Lavender To Calm, Heal And Protect

A herb for spiritual protection, calms the nervous system, heightens psychic senses, purifying and cleansing negative energies, used to attract love, used as a powerful antiseptic for cuts and scrapes

Lavender flowers have long since been used to treat digestive problems, insomnia, anxiety, and restlessness. 

 

Lavender in food: Make lavender biscuits (recipe below), add it to your smoothies, sprinkle over cereal or porridge or use in desserts or as a topping for salads. Place a toothpick into your essential oil bottle and add a tiny bit of the oil to hummus, dressings or olive oil to flavour your food. Add lavender flowers to sugar and blitz in a food processor for baking or to add to tea. 

Essential oil use for love, calm and healing: Lavender is often associated with love spells, as well as for workings to bring calmness and peace. Dab a little lavender oil on your pulses and behind your ears. Put a few drops on your pillow or sheets for a good night’s sleep. Excellent to be used on scrapes and cuts to heal, soothe and disinfect. 

Brings balance to your home: Lavender in the home brings peace, joy and healing. Great in sleep pillows and bath spells. Believed to preserve chastity when mixed with rosemary. Burn the flowers to induce sleep and rest, then scatter the ashes around the home to bring peace and harmony. Add a few drops of lavender essential oil to water for a cleansing room spray or to disinfect your kitchen and bathroom areas or add a few drops to warm water to clean your floors, it will leave your floors and home smelling beautiful.

Use during meditation: Lavender oil diffused is excellent for meditation. Diffusing lavender oil during meditation can help you to relax, open your mind, and create space for you. 

Dry lavender: Dried lavender leaves are great for placing or sewn into pillows to aid in sleep. This is a great idea for anyone who perhaps suffers from nightmares, as lavender is a protection herb that helps to ward off negative energies. Use dried lavender in a foot soak added to half a cup of Himalayan salt and half a cup of Epsom salt for healing and soothing aching muscles.

Using it with crystals: Using it in conjunction with an amethyst stone during ritual may help you achieve a higher level of innate psychic ability.

 

LAVENDER DREAM BISCUITS

PREPARATION TIME – 20 MINUTES
BAKING TIME – 20 MINUTES
MAKES – 20 BISCUITS

Ingredients

100g unsalted butter, softened
90g caster sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
150g plain flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon fresh or dried lavender flowers
 

Method

Preheat the oven to 150°C/300°F/Gas 2.

Beat the butter and sugar until pale and creamy. Grease and line a cookie sheet with baking paper.

Mix the dry ingredients with the lavender flowers and stir into the butter mixture to make a crumbly dough.

Shape small balls and put them on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes in the pre-heated oven. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.
